The Graber roots trace back three generations at what is now the headquarters for Graber Cattle.  The operation centered in Reno County, the Heartland of Kansas, historically has raised production crops consisting of wheat, corn, soybeans, and milo.  Its facilities, still used today, date back to 1912 when the main barn was built.  The house built in 1918 has been remodeled but still looks and feels like the old two story homes built during that time.  in 1988, after working for several large businesses in the Wichita Kansas area, Kevin and his wife, Kandy, decided to move back to the home operation with an interest in owning a "top notch" cattle operation.  We purchased our first Simmental cows in the spring of 1989 from a local rancher in Arlington, Kansas.  One year later, additional cows were purchased from Fort Hays State's beef operation.  Those cows included some full and percentage Red Angus genetic bloodlines.  We found out we like the traits of Red Angus so over the next several years, we phased out our Simmental cows going entirely to the Red Angus based operation.  What really impressed us about the Red Angus breed was the ability to reduce out cow size without giving up functional cattle.  An additional benefit was the solid coloring of offspring on commercial operator herds who would purchase a few or out bulls every year.  While we truly enjoy our Red Angus cows, we added a separate herd of Black Angus Cattle to our operation in 2004.  Currently, we have over 75 registered Red and Black Angus cows that make up the Graber Cattle.  In addition to all that, we have added a replacement heifer operation, putting together groups of solid replacement quality females from are operators which we then breed and market to buyers throughout the year.  Our focus for our cattle is to provide quality replacement females that are efficient in feeding and produce offspring that can generate revenue for "today's" cattlemen.

During this period of change and growth, we have experienced difficult times.  Times in which we often question whether what we are doing is worth all the hard work.  Suring these times, we have relied on our faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to carry us through.  In reality, one day all that we are steward of will be gone and only our relationship with our Saviour will have mattered.  But while we are here our goal is to deal honestly with integrity with those we come in contact with in the beef industry, providing our customers with a quality product which in turn will help them succeed in their own operations.

If you have any question about our cattle, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We thank you for considering us for your beef operation needs.
